Multiverser
Unofficial Support from Eric R. Ashley
Eric R. Ashley, known on the web under the name of his character Tadeusz, is an exciting and excited Multiverser referee and player. He has written the World a Week series at Gaming Outpost, telling the tales of a verser traveling through many different universes, and has rendered at least some of those universes for others to run. He also runs an ongoing campaign at RPOL. Here are a few of his better contributions.
- His enthusiasm for multi-universe games and Multiverser in particular has inspired him to become editor and publisher of a new Multiverse Magazine, good for all such play but especially for this game.
- Among previous contributions, through his Lulu storefront, is his Worldbook: Science Fiction, a collection modeled on our own Books of Worlds, but focused on various science fiction settings--the brilliant teenage inventor, the society that keeps its technological advances secret, time wars, an alternate modern world, an anime setting, and a 12 Monkeys-like modern apocalypse. Also there is his Worldbook: Nine Alternate Realities, an exploration of the limits of science fiction including utopian future, superheroes, steampunk, mecha, psionics, and symbionts, and for good measure the fantastic wild west. Modelled after our own Books of Worlds, Eric's effort contains nine playable scenarios under seven titles, in a beautiful volume.
- Also at Lulu he has a collection of Placeholder Worlds for Desperate GM's of Multiverser/AH RPG's.
- His speech on Quick World Creation given originally at Novacon and Hallowcon is posted in a forum for convenient perusal. Although not Multiverser-specific, it mentions the game and covers some aspects of it.
- In his Gaming Outpost blog he has copied the work of one of his players, McCallister's Basic World Creation Matrix, a mix-and-match collection of setting and plot elements for those moments when you need to toss something together quickly.
Eric also has many sketches of world ideas in his blogs and postings on various game sites--too many to catalogue easily. Simply reading his articles and web logs can be a wonderful source for world ideas and information.
Referees and interested players are encouraged to visit the Official Multiverser Forum at Gaming Outpost to ask questions, observe active play, and get opinions from players.
The site is new as of September, 2007, and will take some time to rebuild; please be patient, but also report any problems found.
