Initial Spells for Wu Jen
Wu Jen start with spells in their books.  The player rolls 3d6; if that number is at least the minimum and not greater than the maximum he may have by intelligence, he may choose that many spells from the list of first level spells as knowable spells which are in his book (without an additional die roll).  If the number is less than his minimum, he may select his minimum; if the roll is greater than his maximum, he may select his maximum.  If he is able to know more spells than the number he is permitted to select, these are rolled as a magic-user or illusionist.

The Wu Jen may be a master of an element; this enhances his ability to cast all spells of that element.  To be a master of an element, he must be able to know all spells of that element and have them in his books through the highest level he is able to cast.  The five elements are indicated with the spells listed, Air (A), Earth (E), Fire (F), Nature/Wood (N), and Water (W).

The first level Wu Jen Spells are:  Accuracy, Animate Wood (N), Chameleon, Cloud Ladder (A), Comprehend Languages, Detect Magic, Drowsy Insects (N), Elemental Burst (all), Fiery Eyes (F), Ghost Light, Hail of Stone (E), Hold Portal, Hypnotism, Know History, Magic Missile, Melt (F), Message, Prestidigitation, Read Magic, Secret Signs, Shield, Spider Climb, Still Water (W), Swim (W), Unseen Servant, Ventriloquism, Wall of Fog (A), Warp Wood (N), Water Protection (W), Wizard Mark.

(excerpted from Multiverser), the highly valued Confessions of a Dungeons & Dragons™ Addict, along with special rules and player aids in both written and computer formats, this site was highly praised by RAWS, linked by Gary Gygax, and is worth a look even if you don't like what you found here.

The best new role playing game....

The Multiverser Information Center
The complexity of creating a D&D character always reminds me of how much simpler it is to play
Multiverser®, the game which incorporates all other games, all other worlds, everything imaginable, with nothing else to buy.

A consideration of time travel....

Temporal Anomalies in Popular Movies
There are enough time travel films out there now that most of the things which could go wrong in time have been shown on the silver screen.  This page applies a new conception of how time works (discussed in the
Multiverser® game system to help referees sort out game scenarios in which player characters travel in time) to unraveling the most popular of such movies.  An Event Horizon Hot Spot and Sci Fi Weekly Site of the Week which has won the author national recognition as an authority on time travel in fiction.
